When I (Dr. Rosenberg) wore braces as an adult, there were no ceramic brackets, clear aligners or lingual braces. Now adults and older teens have three effective choices when it comes to aligning the front teeth. Ligual braces go behind the upper and lower front teeth. They are truly invisible.
Lingual MTM – stands for Minor Tooth Movement. They are ideal for the patient who has minor to moderate relapse – either crowding or spacing. Linguals are not, however, used in our practice to correct bite issues.
They are also:
- gentle – utilizing very light material.
- fast – most cases require 4-8 months.
- Cost effective – no high lab fees when compared to clear aligner treatment.
- Excellent results.
In recent years clear plastic aligners have gained interest among the adult population especially as a means for straightening teeth without showing braces. Problems associated with these aligners; such as long treatment times, very expensive lab fees and compromised results led Dr. Rosenberg to develop a new small, accurate, less expensive alternative. MTM (Minor Tooth Movement) No Trace braces also work incredibly fast; weeks not years.
How are In-Ovation® L MTM braces fitted?

Once a plan has been devised, small bracket are bonded to the tongue side of the teeth. Self-ligating clips are attached to the brackets, which allows the arch wire to slide with minimal friction. The self-ligating nature of the tiny clips means that few adjustments are needed.
The placement process is performed in a short, painless visit. In a short time the In-Ovation® small brakets are removed and the result is a beautiful smile.
